The NEW HG2G Enhanced Communication HMI, a significant upgrade to their previous 5.7 inch model. The color version of the HG2G Enhanced Communication HMI has a resolution of 65,536 colors via its TFT LCD screen and a brightness of 500 cd/m2. The monochrome model has a resolution of 16 shades and a brightness of 1100 cd/m2. This level of resolution produces a much improved viewing experience, and the increased brightness allows screens to be easily seen even in direct sunlight. Viewing can be configured for either portrait or landscape. With all the new and upgraded features, now the new 5.7” supports: Multiple Protocols End users and OEMs often need an HMI that can communicate with a variety of different PLCs and controllers, and the HG2G Enhanced Communication HMI delivers this functionality by supporting up to four communication protocols simultaneously. Remote Internet Access With the New 5.7” touchscreen, you can remotely access, monitor and control your touchscreen through a web browser on a computer, PDA or Smartphone. It’s like you have the touchscreen in front of you, you can both monitor and control operation. No additional software tools or modules needed to use the Remote Monitor & Control function. Up to 5 clients can remotely monitor and control simultaneously. USB Flash Drive (USB Port A) USB flash drive enables easy, convenient data transfer. Inserting a USB flash drive into the touchscreen will automatically bring up the USB transfer menu. Both IDEC HMI and PLC programs can be uploaded/downloaded from/to the USB flash drive. Data Logging, Alarm Log, Recipe and Screen Capture data can be stored in the USB flash drive as well. Backlight Life A common problem with HMIs in this class is limited backlight life, particularly since the backlight is typically not field-replaceable. The HG2G Enhanced Communication HMI LED backlight addresses this issue with a best-in-class life of 100,000 hours, which will provide many years of operation as the backlight can be automatically switched off when the HMI is not in use. Environmental The New Upgrade 5.7” screen is an excellent environmental tolerance with a very wide range of operating temperature -20 degree C to +60 degree C. The New 5.7” HG2G HMIs have new approval ratings. With the addition of UL, Type 4X and Type 13 approvals (on the front panel), New HG2G models now provide customers with a degree of protection Type 4X, Type 13, UL 508, and Class 1 Div 2 hazardous location. This makes HG2G HMIs suitable for applications in harsher environment conditions, especially where protection against corrosion is required such as in the following:
Mounting Flexibility The New 5.7”can be mounted with the screen orientation set to portrait or landscape mode depending on space requirements. According to your specific application needs, this allows you the flexibility of mounting the touchscreen. The possibilities are endless! ![]()

Connect Devices to Databases With 4G LTE
As a system integrator or OEM, it's important to start leveraging the Industrial IoT so you can deliver the greatest value to your customers. This means getting your customers’ devices connected to the cloud and to a database that can be read by advanced software platforms.
Moxa is now offering the 4G LTE Jump Start Kit to make this as easy and cost effective as possible. It includes an easily-programmed Modbus data logger with built-in 4G LTE communications, a Modbus gateway that connects to the most common types of PLCs and RTUs, and an I/O module to collect analog and digital sensor data. For a limited time, this kit is available for under $600 to qualified system integrators and OEMs. Features
4G LTE and Modbus in a Linux Box
The backbone of the 4G LTE Jump Start Kit is the UC-8112-LX, which is powered by a 1 GHz ARM7 processor running Debian Linux. With Moxa's new ThingsPro software installed, you can manage your 4G LTE connection using an easy, web-based GU, and the built-in data compression and data processing features alone can potentially save you thousands of dollars on ongoing data plan costs.
The ThingsPro package also includes a built-in Modbus data management platform, allowing the UC-8112-LX to act as a programmable Modbus datalogger. All of the Modbus data collected by the UC-8112-LX can be made available to your remote SCADA as needed, or processed and integrated into a database that will be utilized by a software application. APIs for Maximum Flexibility, Minimum Effort
ThingsPro also provides RESTful APIs for users that want greater control over the communications interface and functions. The APIs provide easy access to the unit's Modbus and cellular functions so you don't need to spend additional development effort on cellular communication drivers or industrial protocol handlers. In addition, C/C++/Python APIs are provided for the Modbus data that is collected from connected devices. Everything works out of the box so you can devote your energy towards your data processing and application requirements.
Connects to Nearly Any Sensor or Device
With the included I/O module and Modbus gateway, you can collect data from nearly any sensor, PLC, or RTU. Data from these sensors and devices are collected, processed, formatted, and customized on the UC-8112 itself, and made available to any cloud-connected database or platform over the 4G LTE connection. The ioLogik E1242 supports 4 analog inputs, 4 digital inputs, and 4 digital input/outputs, and the MGate MB3180 supports Modbus RTU/ASCII communication over RS-232/422/485. Both are natively supported by ThingsPro, so data from any connected device or sensor can be collected via simple Modbus commands.
Working with an unsupported sensor or a different protocol such as EtherNet/IP? Not to worry. Moxa offers a wide range of I/O modules and protocol gateways that can be substituted or added depending on your situation. Contact us to find out what combination works best for your needs. Now Available
The 4G LTE Jump Start Kit is now available for a limited time to qualified system integrators and OEMs. It includes the following:
IDEC interface relays provide a compact solution for general purpose relay requirements. The RV8 series interface relays are ideal for PLC and other controller output, industrial automation, panel builders, assembly machine applications and other applications that require a high switching capability in a compact space. The RV8 relays can be used as a universal interfaces between the controller and the actuator to switch small and medium size loads. Installation time is greatly reduced with pre-assembled relays and sockets – with either screw connections or spring clamp terminations. Replacement relays and sockets are also available. Optional accessories include jumpers, spacers and marking plates to facilitate wiring and quick identifications. The primary versions available are:

Thermal Management Guide: Meeting Control Panel Space Requirements and Avoiding Overheating4/13/2016 ![]() Thermal Edge has a brand new Thermal Management Guide for Meeting Control Panel Space Requirements and Avoiding OverheatingIn most manufacturing areas, space comes at a premium, which leads designers to fit control panels into ever tighter spaces while still having to comply with safety and regulatory requirements. As the enclosures surrounding control panels shrink and the amount of equipment that panels must include grows, temperature control becomes an increasingly important issue for engineers. Fortunately, feature rich and energy efficient cooling systems are available. When cooling is a consideration at the beginning of control panel design, instead of as an afterthought, temperature control is a much easier feat. In this guide, you will learn:

Introduction The AWK-3191 900 MHz wireless AP/bridge/client is Moxa’s answer to long distance wireless communication for industrial applications. By combining the characteristics of the 33-centimeter band and the proven 802.11 standards, Moxa is able to provide a reliable long distance wireless solution. Unlike traditional point-to-point 900 MHz radios, the AWK-3191 supports both master/slave and AP/client operation modes to enable both point-to-point and point-to-multi-point communication for higher flexibility and lower total cost of ownership. Furthermore, the AWK-3191 is designed to be deployed easily, but in case of external interference, Moxa also provides the ability to allow engineers to adjust their 900 MHz central frequency and bandwidth (5/10 MHz and 20 MHz) to optimize their wireless performance. The AWK-3191 is rated to operate at temperatures ranging from -25 to 60°C for standard models and -40 to 75°C for wide temperature models, and with an industrial-oriented design, it is compliant with various standards and approvals, making it rugged enough for any harsh industrial environment.
