Can’t use Fiber Optic? Leverage your Copper Wiring Infrastructure Instead The IEX-402 series can extend industrial Ethernet by using any two equal length copper wires. Common examples are existing twisted copper cables (e.g. RS-485 wiring) or voice-grade wires. All can now be used for a cost-effective solution for long distance Ethernet connectivity. The IEX-402 Ethernet extenders are also easy to use because they auto-configure which reduces the possibility of human configuration errors and speeds up deployment times. Available with G.SHDSL (maximum distance) and VDSL2 (maximum bandwidth) models to suit various application requirements, the IEX-402 series can provide transmission distances of up to 8 km or transmission data rates of up to 100 Mbps.

CONTACT QUANTUM AUTOMATION FOR MORE INFORMATIONExtend your PROFIBUS Networks over Fiber Optic Cable Distributed Industrial Control systems are placing increasing demands on data communications. When it comes to PROFIBUS twisted-pair copper cables are a proven technology, but they can limit communication speed and distance. Fiber Optic Media Converters allow PROFIBUS connections to be extended beyond traditional copper based installations, providing total isolation, protection against EMI/RFI interference, and freedom from equipment grounding problems. To minimize downtime in expansive installations, Moxa has introduced built-in diagnostics tools to diagnose communications issues. From any connected media converter, the integrity of the whole network can be validated by just 1 person.

AIMC series micro computers are typically 50% more space saving compared to traditional wallmount systems. Until now, most production manufacturers had adopted full-size IPC solutions for their machine automation applications. But increasingly, fewer add-on cards are becoming the norm in machine automation, for example a single motion, I/O or artificial vision card can fulfill most applications. |

X6 Series
Utilizing our unique Reverse Energy Structure, new X6 emergency stop switches are the latest in safety innovation wrapped in a sleek, miniature package. This smooth design is ideal for applications requiring cleanliness, such as food processing machines, medical equipment and semiconductor equipment. Manufactured to prevent dust build up and make cleaning simple, this sleek switch is both hygienic and visually appealing. The unibody design is efficient and elegant, extending only 23.9mm behind the panel compared with conventional e-stops which average 27.9mm! By reducing the depth and volume, these e-stops keep equipment and control panels compact yet safe. X6 Emergency Stop switches also include IDEC’s innovative “safe break action” design, which uses a unique reverse energy structure to ensure that the NC contacts will open if the emergency switch is damaged; the NC contacts will reliably open, even if they are welded, and stop the machine. The X6 emergency stop switch can be reset either by pulling or turning, and the button is offered in 30mm and 40mm sizes. In addition to a red emergency button, a yellow button is also available as a stop switch, and all buttons are available with or without arrow markings. X6 emergency stop switches are UL, c-UL recognized, and EN compliant.

XW Series
The XW series of Emergency Stop switches include a revolutionary new technology called "safe break action" that will change the way E-Stop switches are designed. This innovative concept provides greater levels of human safety and is the first of its kind in the world. Conventional E-Stop switches are designed with spring pressure on the Normally Closed (NC) contacts, keeping them in the closed position and allowing the machine to operate. Improper installation or excessive force to the stop button in an emergency may break or dislodge a vital part, causing the spring loaded contact to stay closed. This situation renders the E-Stop incapable of stopping the machine and can lead to catastrophic events, personal injury and possible loss of life. This one-of-a-kind "safe break action" design, found only in the IDEC XW, XA, and X6 series, reverses the energy direction and uses the spring-pressure to assure that the NC contacts will open if the emergency switch is damaged or the contact blocks separate due to excessive force. The NC contacts will reliably open, even if they are welded, and stop the machine. XW series switches offer up to four "safe-break" contacts with a depth behind the panel that is half the size of conventional E-Stop switches. This means that there is an additional contact available and the switches can be used in Level 4 safety category applications. New additions to the XW series include a smooth button, which resists dirt buildup and contamination, making it ideal for food, beverage, and pharmaceutical applications. And the attractive appearance and rugged construction make it suitable for a wide variety of commercial and industrial applications. These new models also include a green mechanical indicator, which allows an operator to view the status of the switch from a distance. The XW E-Stop switches are secured from the rear of the control panel so that the E-Stop cannot be removed from the front. Another unique feature of the XW E-Stop switches is that either a push-turn or push-pull reset method can be used to reset the switches. This eliminates any possible confusion for operators when resetting the switch. The durability and quality of these new E-Stop switches make them extremely reliable. They can withstand the highest stress caused by panic or a reaction to an emergency situation.
